Our laboratory is open Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm but we are always available for contact when you need us.

Yes, we can. Please contact us to make arrangements.

The required sample amount depends on the number and type of analyses you are looking to have done. Please refer to our price sheet to determine your product type and the required sample amount.

Harvest Batch Sampling
Regulations require that a test sample be taken from each prepackaged or unpackaged harvest batch (weighing no more than 50.0 pounds), with sample weighing at minimum 0.35% of the total harvest batch weight.

If you are a medical patient, you are more than welcome to drop off your samples at our laboratory or we can arrange for courier pick up.

If you are submitting samples for state compliance testing, we will need to arrange for laboratory personnel to come and retrieve your samples.

Unfortunately, we are unable to receive samples by mail.

Please call our front desk at (818) 922-2416 or email us at info@csalabs.com

We currently offer a 3-5 day turnaround time with options for expedited/rush orders.

Your results will not be made publicly available unless you specifically request them to be.

The easiest way to access your results/COA would be to log into your client portal.

Of course! Tell everyone and anyone that your products are “canna” safe!

About State Regulations

Most frequent questions and answers
As of right now Phase I regulations are in place. This requires:
All inhalable cannabis (ex: flower, kief, hash, etc.) be tested for:
  • Cannabinoids
  • Moisture Content
  • Category I Residual Pesticides (for more information see “What are Category I Pesticides?”)
  • Bacterial and Fungal Microbial Impurities (for more information see “What are Microbial Impurities?”)
All inhalable cannabis products (ex: concentrates, extracts, vaporizers, etc.) be tested for:
  • Cannabinoids
  • Category II Residual Solvents and Processing Chemicals (for more information see “What are Category II Residual Solvents and Processing Chemicals?”)
  • Category I Residual Pesticides
  • Bacterial and Fungal Microbial Impurities

All other cannabis and cannabis products (ex: edibles, tinctures, topicals, etc.) be tested for:

  • Cannabinoids
  • Category II Residual Solvents and Processing Chemicals
  • Category I Residual Pesticides
  • Bacterial Microbial Impurities
  • Homogeneity (edibles only)

If you are not state-licensed you are still able to submit samples for analysis as a medical card-carrying patient but you will not be able to submit samples for compliance testing.

If you are state-licensed and your current laboratory is not, you have to perform compliance testing with a state-licensed lab.

Microbial impurities are microscopic bacteria or fungi that are known to cause serious health problems. California state regulations require that the bacterial contaminants Escherichia coli (E. coli) and Salmonella spp. be screened for in all cannabis products. California also mandates that the fungal contaminants Aspergillus fumigatus, Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus niger, and Aspergillus terreus be screened for in all inhalable cannabis and cannabis products.

Category II Residual Solvents and Processing Chemicals consist of the following compounds:
  • Acetone
  • Acetonitrile
  • Butane
  • Ethanol
  • Ethyl acetate
  • Ethyl ether
  • Heptane
  • Hexane
  • Isopropyl alcohol
  • Methanol
  • Pentane
  • Propane
  • Toluene
  • ortho-Xylene
  • meta-Xylene
  • para-Xylene
